Article 1. Scope
- These Terms of Use ("Terms") set out the conditions for using the PINPLATE iPhone app, its paid plan "PINPLATE Pro", and the website
pinplate.app(together, the "Service"), provided by PRODUCTX, K.K. ("we", "us"). - How we handle information in the Service is set out in our Privacy Policy.
- Conditions of sale for purchases made on the Japanese App Store are also set out in the Notation based on the Specified Commercial Transactions Act (in Japanese).
Article 2. Definitions
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| User | Anyone who uses the Service |
| Guest | A user using PINPLATE without signing in |
| Account | A PINPLATE user account created when you sign in with Sign in with Apple |
| Common DB | The database of training machine information that we distribute to all users |
| AI text | Post-workout comments and weekly review text that PINPLATE creates with AI |
| Contribution | A machine addition request, increment report, or machine error report that a user sends to us |
Article 3. Agreement and eligibility
- You use the Service after agreeing to these Terms. The first screen of PINPLATE shows "By starting, you agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy." with links to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You agree to these Terms when you start using PINPLATE.
- The Service is not available to anyone under 13.
- If you are 13–17, please use the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian. Users aged 13–17 cannot use features that rely on external AI (Apple Private Cloud Compute and Google Gemini).
- Please state your age band accurately. It cannot be changed later.
Article 4. Account
- You can use every logging feature without signing in (as a guest). Signing in with Sign in with Apple is required to sync to the cloud and to create weekly reviews with Google Gemini (no sign-in is needed for weekly reviews created with Apple Private Cloud Compute).
- A guest's data exists only on their iPhone. If data is lost because the iPhone breaks, is lost, or the app is deleted, we cannot restore it.
- You are responsible for managing your own Apple ID and iPhone.
- You can sign out and delete your account at any time in the Profile tab (Account section). Deleting your account permanently deletes all records in the cloud and on that iPhone. You can export your data before deleting.
Article 5. The Service
- The Service mainly provides the following. Details are shown in the app and on
pinplate.app.- Workout logging (tap, Lock Screen and voice), history, charts and personal bests
- The common machine DB, My Gym and adding machines
- Menu building and rule-based weight and rep suggestions
- Creating and sharing personal-best stickers
- AI text (post-workout comments and weekly reviews)
- Data export and cloud sync
- What is available for free and what requires Pro is shown in the app and on
pinplate.app. - Some features are unavailable or differ depending on your iPhone model, OS version, region and Apple Intelligence settings (for example, the detailed weekly review).
Article 6. PINPLATE Pro and billing
- Purchase: Pro is an auto-renewable subscription purchased through In-App Purchase on the App Store (yearly or monthly). Apple bills and collects payment under the App Store terms. The price is the amount shown on the purchase screen.
- Free trial: The yearly plan may include a free trial. The number of days is shown on the purchase screen. When the trial ends, the yearly price is charged automatically unless you cancel. The free trial is limited to once per person (as provided by the App Store).
- Auto-renewal: Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, the subscription renews automatically for the same period at the same price.
- Cancellation: You can cancel at any time in the iPhone Settings app > your name (Apple Account) > "Subscriptions" > "PINPLATE". You can open the same screen from "Manage Subscription" in PINPLATE's Profile tab. After cancelling, you can use Pro until the end of the current period. Deleting the app or deleting your account does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds: Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. We cannot process refunds. To request a refund, contact Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com). There are no prorated refunds for the remainder of a period if you cancel partway through.
- Family Sharing: Pro is not available through Family Sharing. It can be used only with the Apple Account that purchased it.
- Offer codes: We may distribute offer codes for Pro discounts and the like. Conditions are shown when the codes are distributed. Conditions after redeeming a code, such as the price from the second year, are shown on the App Store screen.
- Price changes: We may change the price of Pro. If the renewal price increases, you will be notified in advance under the App Store rules and, where required, asked to agree.
- When Pro ends: When Pro expires, you can continue within the free plan. You can edit and use up to 3 routines; routines beyond 3 (those last used longest ago) remain as read-only. You cannot start a workout from a read-only routine, but it is not deleted. AI text already created remains readable.
- Restoring purchases: After changing devices or reinstalling, tap "Restore Purchases" with the same Apple Account to get Pro back. No sign-in is required.
Article 7. AI features
- AI text is labeled "Created by AI" (EU AI Act, Art. 50).
- Weight, rep and set suggestions are calculated by PINPLATE's rules, and AI explains the reasons by citing research summaries (evidence cards). AI text may contain errors. You decide for yourself whether to use a suggestion.
- External AI (Apple Private Cloud Compute and Google Gemini) is used only for users aged 18 or older who have consented to sending data. What is sent is described in Section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
- Weekly reviews that use external AI are subject to a monthly limit. Limits and AI providers may change due to costs or the providers' circumstances.
- Evidence cards are research summaries, not medical advice.
Article 8. Health and safety
- The Service is not medical care. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent or rehabilitate any illness or injury, and it is not a medical device.
- Suggestions and AI text in the Service are general training information. If you have a medical condition, are injured, are pregnant or have any concern about your health, consult a doctor or other professional before you start training.
- If you feel pain, numbness, dizziness or similar symptoms, stop training immediately and see a medical professional if needed.
- You are responsible for how you use machines, the weights you choose and checking the safety of your surroundings. Follow your gym's rules and staff instructions.
- Suggestions about physique or weight loss are shown only to people aged 18 or older.
Article 9. Common machine DB
- Common DB information (brand names, model names, specifications, weight increments, etc.) is compiled by us from manufacturers' public information and other sources. PINPLATE is not affiliated with or related to any manufacturer. Brand and model names may be trademarks of their respective owners.
- We work to keep the common DB accurate, but it may contain errors, outdated information or differences from the actual machine at your gym. Check the machine's own markings for the actual weight and increments.
- If you find an error, let us know with "Report an Error" on the machine details screen. We will check and correct it.
- Sources are shown on the machine details screen.
Article 10. Information you send
- When you add a machine that is not in the common DB to My Gym, a request to send that machine's information (brand, model name, model number, movement, type, unit and increment; gym names are not included) to us is created automatically. While you are not signed in, the request is kept on your iPhone and sent when you sign in. You can also send increment reports and error reports. Do not include information that identifies individuals, content that infringes others' rights, or content that is untrue.
- After review, we may use contributions to add to or correct the common DB. You grant us a royalty-free license, without limitation of term or territory, to include the content of your contributions (machine information) in the common DB, modify it and distribute it to all users. Information included in the common DB remains, in a form that does not identify you, after you delete your account.
- After review, we may decide not to include a contribution in the common DB. Even then, a machine you added remains usable in your own My Gym.
- Free-text input in contributions is not shown to other users or to AI until we have reviewed it.
- You own the data you enter, such as records and profile. We handle it only as described in the Privacy Policy.
Article 11. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Violate laws or public order and morals
- Infringe others' rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, etc.)
- Include untrue content, obscene, discriminatory or offensive language, advertising, or personal information in contributions
- Cause trouble for us or other users, such as by sending large numbers of contributions or inquiries
- Place an excessive load on the Service's servers or network, access them without authorization, or interfere with their operation
- Modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app (except as permitted by law)
- Collect the common DB, evidence cards or AI text in bulk by automated means, or copy, distribute or sell them without permission
- Improperly circumvent the billing system, or buy or sell offer codes
- Use the external AI features for purposes other than their intended use (such as sending input that attempts to override instructions)
- Misrepresent your age band
- Impersonate us or any third party
- Engage in any other conduct similar to the above that we reasonably consider inappropriate
Article 12. Intellectual property
- Rights in the Service's app, design, logo, text, common DB (its structure as a database) and evidence cards belong to us or their rightful owners.
- Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive right to use PINPLATE for personal purposes on Apple-branded products that you own or control.
- You may freely share your personal-best stickers.
Article 13. Third-party services
- The Service uses third-party services such as Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, Health, Apple Intelligence, etc.), Google (Firebase, Gemini) and Meta (Instagram). Their own terms apply to your use of those services.
- When using PINPLATE, you must comply with applicable third-party terms, such as the App Store Terms of Service.
- Changes to or suspension of third-party services may make some features of the Service unavailable (for example, direct sharing to Instagram or external AI).
Article 14. Changes, interruption and termination of the Service
- We may change the Service, add new features or end some features.
- We may temporarily suspend all or part of the Service in the following cases: server maintenance or failure, failure of third-party services, natural disasters or other unavoidable circumstances.
- We may end the Service. If we do, we will give reasonable advance notice on
pinplate.appand in the app. Pro subscriptions active at the time of termination will be handled under the App Store terms and applicable law. Your records remain on your iPhone, and we will make it possible to export them before the Service ends.
Article 15. Suspension of use
- If you violate these Terms, we may stop accepting your contributions, suspend your use of cloud features, or delete your account. In that case we will state our reasons. Where urgently necessary, we will state them after suspension.
- Even if your use is suspended, you can export the records on your iPhone.
Article 16. Warranties and limitation of liability
- We provide the Service as is. We do not warrant that the Service will suit your purposes, that you will achieve training results, that the common DB or AI text is accurate, or that the Service will be uninterrupted.
- We will compensate you for damage caused to you for reasons attributable to us. However, where the damage results from our slight negligence (negligence that is not gross negligence), our liability is limited to direct damage that would ordinarily arise, up to the amount you paid for Pro in the month the damage occurred (one-twelfth of the yearly price for a yearly plan). If you have not paid for Pro, the limit is JPY 1,000.
- The limitation in the proviso to the preceding paragraph does not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, or to death or personal injury.
- We are not liable for damage not attributable to us, such as the failure or loss of your iPhone, inadequate management of your Apple ID, or failures of third-party services.
- Nothing in this Article limits the rights granted to consumers by the laws of the country where you live.
Article 17. Changes to these Terms
- We may change these Terms where the change is in the general interest of users, or where the change does not conflict with the purpose of the agreement and is reasonable in light of the need for the change, the appropriateness of its content and other circumstances.
- When we change these Terms, we will announce the effective date and the content of the change on this page at
pinplate.appbefore the effective date. Changes unfavorable to users will be announced at least 30 days before they take effect, and also on the Home screen the next time you open the app after the revised version is published. During the notice period, this page shows the version in force; the revised version is placed on its own version page before the effective date and linked from this page. - Earlier versions can be read from the version numbers in the revision history at the end of this page.
- If you continue to use the Service after the effective date, you are deemed to have agreed to the change.
Article 18. Terms regarding Apple
The following applies to users who obtained PINPLATE from the App Store.
- These Terms are an agreement between you and us, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are responsible for PINPLATE and its content.
- Your right to use PINPLATE is limited to use on Apple-branded products that you own or control, in accordance with the Usage Rules set out in the App Store Terms of Service.
- We provide maintenance and support for PINPLATE. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.
- If PINPLATE fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to PINPLATE.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to PINPLATE (including product liability claims, claims that PINPLATE fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection laws).
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claim that PINPLATE or your use of it infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Send questions, complaints or claims about PINPLATE to the contact in Article 23.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance of these Terms, have the right to enforce them against you.
